Lake Norman Beerfest
Lake Norman Beerfest kicks off the fall season on September 23rd. Those 21 and over will receive a sampling cup for tasting the over 75 local and national brews that will be represented. New to this year’s event is the Southern Sauce barbecue tent. Items for purchase will include pulled pork, ribs, brisket, cole slaw, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese. This year the festival will be celebrating its 7th year and will take place at the Galway Hooker Irish Pub in Cornelius. In addition to great food and drinks, Beerfest will host 2 bands for your entertainment starting at 5:00 pm. Tickets for this event sell out quickly so be sure to buy early!
The Great Pumpkin Fest
Carowinds is a fun place to spend a day with the kids all season long, but have you been to The Great Pumpkin Fest? During this popular fall festival, Planet Snoopy becomes a place all ages can enjoy. They will offer rides, shows, food, and interactive displays. The fun starts September 17th and will run through October 30th.
Festival in the Park
Since 1964, locals have been attending the Festival in the Park event at Freedom Park. This event is held annually each September and draws in huge crowds during the 3 day weekend. This huge festival includes over 200 arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, children’s rides, and more. Festival in the Park will be held this year September 22nd through the 24th and is free for all to attend.
Great Grapes Wine and Food Festival
Wine lovers rejoice as the Great Grapes Wine and Food Festival returns this September. Great Grapes Wine and Food Festival will take place on September 30th at Symphony Park at Southpark Mall. Ticketholders will be able to sample wines from the over 20 wineries represented. VIP ticket holders will get early entrance and will receive a souvenir glass and bag. The bag will come in handy for all the shopping to be done at the local food and craft vendors.
Carolina Renaissance Festival
For 8 weekends from October 1st to November 19th, the Carolina Renaissance Festival will take place in Huntersville, NC. This extravagant event takes place rain or shine and guests are welcome to come out and celebrate all day long. There is no shortage of things to do at the Renaissance Festival. Events include comedy shows, jousting competitions, lots of unique food items for purchase and an Artisan Market filled with local arts and crafts. Themed weekends during the event will be Brewfest weekend, Celtic Music Jams weekend, Halloween Daze and Spooky Knights, and the Pirates Christmas weekend. Tickets range from $12 to $25 and can be purchased the day of.
Carolina BalloonFest
During the weekend of October 20th-22nd, you will see lots of beautiful balloons at the Carolina BalloonFest. This very popular event is held in Statesville just north of Charlotte on Interstate 77. There is so much to see and do at this festival it is hard to pack it all in during just one day. The Carolina BalloonFest is home to a Kids Zone, Artisan Village, pilot meet and greet, wine and craft beer tasting, Eat Street, competitions and of course balloon rides and balloon glow. Tickets go very quickly to this event so buy early!
