Spend a Day at The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art

Take a walk through uptown and you have probably seen the 17-foot tall Firebird statue that greets guests entering The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.  Since January of 2010, Charlotteans and visitors from all around the region have been visiting The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art.  The museum is home to 4 gallery floors displaying collections of mid-20th Century Modern Art.  Just a few of the artists you will see at the Museum include Max Ernst, Andy Warhol, and Pablo Picasso.  Find your way to 420 S Tryon Street and spend a day at The Bechtler Museum.

The Levine Center for the Arts is home to not only The Bechtler Museum but also Knight Theater, the Mint Museum Uptown and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts and Culture.  The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art stands by their mission to share the joy and excellence of the collection so everyone can be inspired, informed, and have their intellectual life enhanced.  Current Exhibitions at the Museum include the Bechtler Collection: Relaunched and Rediscovered, and All That Sparkles: 20th Century Artists’ Jewelry.

When you visit the Museum, don’t forget to stop by the Museum Store.  You will find a large selection of books, toys, home décor and more.  The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.  They are open on Sunday from noon to 5:00 pm and closed on Tuesdays.  Admission is $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for seniors, students, and educators.  Youth ages 11-18 are $4.00 and children under 10 are free.
