Kindred, which opened in 2015, is a family owned and operated restaurant.  Because of the success of Kindred, Joe and Katy Kindred are opening another restaurant Hello, Sailor! set to open later this year.  Kindred offers a rotating menu of seasonal items.  Simple menu items like Grandfather’s Pickles, Farmhouse Cheeses, and their Milkbread Cinnamon Roll has diners coming back again and again.

For an evening of local fine dining, head to Fork! on N Main Street in Cornelius.  Fork! takes pride in what they call Farm to Fork.  They work with local farmers to include fresh produce and meats for their menu items.  In the warmer months, enjoy a glass of wine or dinner on their wrap around porch.  Fork! is open for dinner and Sunday brunch.  Reservations are recommended and can be made online.

If you love all things seafood, you’ll love the Upper Crust Bar and Social Club.  Upper Crust is located above Millstone Bake House.  Just a few of the reasons you’ll want to visit is their outdoor seating, full bar with specialty cocktails and their vegetarian offerings.  Upper Crust even has live music on the weekends.

Since 2010, Millstone Bake House and Provisions has been serving Davidson locals fresh bread and pastries.  Other offerings from chef and owner Sara Hord include sandwiches, breakfast items, and dessert.  Millstone is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Lake Norman Cottage is a relaxing place to sip on a glass of wine overlooking the water.  Located next to North Harbor Club Restaurant, Lake Norman Cottage offers wine and food tastings on Friday and Saturday evenings for $25 per person.  You can also shop while you dine in their retail space.  Lake Norman Cottage is open 7 days a week.

For those looking to try a variety of foods in one trip is the Tour de Food DavidsonTour de Food starts at the Old Cotton Mill and stops at 5 to 6 restaurants each tour.  Participants are able to sample foods at each establishment and sample wine or beer at one of the locations.  Foodies will love the up close and personal experiences of getting to meet the owners and the chefs.  Tickets range from $30 to $60 per person.
