Performances at the Charlotte Ballet

  • Fall Works at Knight Theater. October 20th through 22nd. This double feature will feature the work of both Ohad Naharin and Dwight Rhoden.
  • Nutcracker at Belk Theater. December 3rd through 23rd. This year’s performance, with live music from the Charlotte Symphony, is a must-see.  Due to a generous donation, the Nutcracker will feature new sets and beautiful new costumes.  The Charlotte Ballet will hold a one-night preview of the new Nutcracker on December 2nd.  From 6:00pm to 10:00pm, there will be a Land of Sweets reception with festive activities, refreshments, music, and a silent auction.  Most of all, children will also enjoy the Snowflake Village with special holiday activities.
  • Innovative Works at the Patricia McBride & Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance. January 27th through February 18th. This is one of the Ballet’s most popular performances and also one of their most intimate settings.  In addition to the ballet, there will be a dessert reception following the performance with the dancers and staff.
  • Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte at Knight Theater. March 4th. This fundraising gala is celebrating its 4th year at the Charlotte Ballet.  The event pairs local professionals with members of the Ballet for an unforgettable evening.  As a result of the gala, the donations have gone to local charities around Charlotte.
  • Sleeping Beauty at Knight Theater.  March 10th through the 19th. This classic fairytale comes to life with beautiful sets, costumes and classic ballet choreography.
  • Wuthering Heights at Knight Theater. April 27th through the 29th. Artistic director Sasha Janes will transform this classic tale into a breathtaking ballet.

The 2016-2017 season will be the last season for Charlotte Ballet President and Artistic Director Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux.  Since it is his final season, it will be a celebration of his accomplishments and contributions to the Charlotte Ballet.
