What to See and Do
April is for Arts takes place during one of the last weekends of the month. This year it’s celebrated on April 25 – 27 and features three days of unique showcases of art, from painting and sculpture to photography and music.
FRIDAY: Gallery Crawl
The April is for Arts Gallery Crawl takes place on Friday from 6 – 9 pm. This free event kicks off the weekend with many artists and local businesses displaying their work or products on the sidewalk and inside businesses along Main St and South Main Street in Davidson. Either grab a ride on the trolley or stroll the streets to stop at the different exhibits.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Art on the Green Festival
Art on the Green takes place on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and again on Sunday from noon to 4pm. Not only can visitors view one-of-a-kind art on the Village Green, but you can also enjoy live music and local food vendors throughout the day. The juried art show brings artists throughout the region specializing in multiple mediums, including sculpture, watercolor, photography, ceramics and glass to name a few. It’s a fantastic time to socialize with the locals, meet the artists and enjoy the beautiful spring weather.
SUNDAY: Concert on the Green
Davidson’s Concerts on the Green are a local favorite. This concert series begins at 6 pm with a performance by the Davidson College Jazz Ensemble on an outdoor stage at the Davidson Public Library. After April is for Arts Weekend, these concerts will occur on the first and third Sunday of each month through the end of September. They are all free for everyone!
