This summer’s most anticipated newest Lake Norman hotspot is Hello, Sailor. Though an opening date has yet to be announced, we are counting down the days to this new Cornelius restaurant. There is no denying that Joe and Katy Kindred are amazing at what they do. We love Kindred Davidson which has been open since 2015 and is also within walking distance of Davidson Village Inn. We cannot wait to be toasting cocktails at their newest concept Hello, Sailor restaurant in Cornelius this fall.
Have dinner or relax with a drink at Hello, Sailor!
Hello, Sailor will take over the former Rusty Rudder location in Cornelius. The location is situated on the shores of Lake Norman so you are sure to enjoy beautiful views and sunsets with your dinner. The 4,000 square foot space will feature inside seating for 70 guests and multi-level decks outside on sunny days. Hello, Sailor will also feature 20 boat slips for an upfront parking spot for those arriving by boat.
Inspired by a nautical tattoo, Hello, Sailor is the perfect name for this waterfront location. With this fun name, comes a unique drink and dinner menu. The Kindred’s are going for a modern, upscale fish camp vibe for their new space. The menu, like Kindred Davidson, will feature local, quality ingredients and items like fresh seafood, burgers, ribs, and sandwiches like prime rib. The Kindred children are even getting in on the menu making and adding the perfect chicken tenders to the kid’s menu.
Sticking with the fun and funky vibe, the tiki bar outside will offer guests frozen mixed drinks, beer on tap and wine by the bottle and glass. When it comes to the inside of Hello, Sailor, Katy is looking to keep things modern, with fun bright colors and a very funky Palm Springs atmosphere.
Eater.com has named Hello, Sailor as one of “the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2017.” The goal of Hello, Sailor is to be a place for everyone, not just the lake crowd. Being a family of 5 themselves, the Kindred’s welcome families with kids to come out and enjoy dinner at their new restaurant. Joe and Katy knew they wanted a place that all types of patrons would enjoy year round.
