About Lake Norman

Lake Norman is the largest man-made lake in the Carolinas, providing endless fun to visitors and residents alike. Several public parks offer access to the lake as well as hiking and biking paths, picnic areas, and other facilities. There is no better way to spend your day than with a fishing rod at Lake Norman. Anglers from all over come to the lake, not only to participate in fishing tournaments but also to relax and practice their fishing techniques. In this lake, you can find catfish, crappie, striped bass, largemouth bass, and yellow and white perch. Spend some time perfecting your casting with the chance to catch a record-winning fish. Many visit during the early summer when temperatures start to warm up, but those brave and willing to come during winter or spring will have the opportunity to catch an abundance of fish.

Lake Norman Boat Rentals

As the largest man-made lake in North Carolina, many come from near and far to visit this beautiful place. If you don’t have a boat of your own, don’t worry. Lake Norman has plenty of boat rentals available for even the farthest traveled visitors. If you’re planning on renting a boat for one of the fishing tournaments, make sure to reserve it in advance as the demand is high at this time. Check out Westport Marina for all of your fishing related boating needs. If you’re looking for other types of boats, see Carolina Boat Renters, Morningstar Marinas, and Premier Boat Rental for easy access to Lake Norman and proximity to downtown Davidson.
