  1. Christmas in Davidson 3-day Event

Each year, the holiday season kicks off with the annual Christmas in Davidson event. This 3-day celebration began back in 1988 and continues to grow each year. More than 20,000 visitors attend this family-friendly event. Christmas in Davidson features live entertainment, food, crafts and other holiday festivities. This year’s event will take place November 30th through December 2nd. Grab a horse-drawn carriage ride through the town to see the spectacular array of holiday decorations or sip on hot cocoa as you stroll the streets. There will also be plenty of shopping, a tree village, a dog fashion show, live nativity, and Santa’s Village.

  1. North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade

What’s a kick off to the holidays without a parade? The 35th annual North Mecklenburg Christmas Parade will take place, Saturday, December 2nd at 1:30 pm. The parade will begin at the intersection of Griffith Street and Highway 115. Featured in this year’s parade are horses, school groups, school bands, and more!

  1. Mom’s Gift performed by Davidson Community Players

A performance by the Davidson Community Players is another great activity to do this December. This season they are performing a comedy presented by the Wooden Stone Gallery. Mom’s Gift, which can be seen at Armour Street Theatre, will run from November 30th through December 17th and is recommended for ages 12 and up.

  1. Lighted Boat Parade on Lake Norman

While we certainly love enjoying Lake Norman during the summer months, it is also pretty neat to be able to enjoy it during the winter season too. The 21st Annual Lighted Boat Parade at the Peninsula Yacht Club will light up the night sky on Saturday, December 9th.
